The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Eritrea, East Africa, commissioned these stylized masks for a street theater performance that was part of the 15th anniversary of Eritrean independence from Ethiopia. The portraits depict Former Ethiopian dictator Menghistu Hailemariam, the late Emperor of Ethiopia Haile Selassie, Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi and president of Eritrea Isaias Afewerki. |
