This piece is the first in a series of life-sized figures interacting with masks. My theatrical background led me to think about not only what is behind the mask, but what goes on “behind the scenes”, as it were, of the characters we all play (and the metaphorical masks we all wear) in daily life.
The colorless, nude figures are the unadorned and unprotected self.   The masks represent emotions we wear, whether they be unconscious or deliberate. The masks  appear in the form of everyday household objects: dishes, articles of clothing, etc. They are part of our daily rituals and routines.
